TURNED EDGE COVERS "Turned edge" refers to the process of covering a board with cover material and 'turning' it over the board edges. This is the method Pease uses to create casebound covers, binders and other products. A variety of materials can be used in turned-edge construction, including cloth, paper, imitation leather and much more. The case, or turned edge piece is then attached to the signature by gluing endsheets - separate leaves attached to the book block by a method called tipping. The result is a finished book that's both durable and attractive.
